Artist's Description
Also known as northern barred owl or hoot owl, its distinctive call has been translated by the human ear as "Who cooks for you? Who who cooks for you" or something similar. They are an aggressive owl and their faces seem hard scrabbled compared to the other species of owls as if they have had more physical altercations in pursuing their prey.
