Description
The burrowing owl is a small owl found in North and South America. They burrow in grasslands, rangelands, agricultural areas, deserts and other low lying landscapes. They have developed longer legs and have adapted to life outside the forest and aren't as shy as other owl species when humans are nearby. In North America they are found in the grasslands west of the Mississippi.
